A person who bullies is anyone who exerts power over another to physically, verbally or socially harm that person. 

Typical behaviour of people who bully

  • They generally have distinctive personality traits characterized by aggressive behaviour.
  • They want to dominate others.
  • They readily succumb to peer pressure.
  • They need to win and be in control.
  • They have no remorse.
  • They have difficulty taking responsibility for their mistakes.
  • They tend to be impulsive and disruptive.

Impact on the person who is bullying

A person who is bullying may feel depressed, aggressive or untrustworthy, may have suicidal thoughts and may even act on them. Such a person is also more likely to have children with behavioural problems or aggressive tendencies.
